As every body knows, Japan endured a lot lately. Not only the earthquakes were devastating, but the tsunami hit was merciless and the second explosion to the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant was registered a few moments ago. Witnessing such disasters, one can only wonder what could go worse? I believe I make no mistake when I think people there are really experiencing Armageddon. Since a while, Google started a project called Crisis response. One can find here fresh news, accurate maps and great tools like Person Finder. Find here lots of information, from emergency phone numbers to schedule of planned blackouts. And if you have some spare money, you can donate them to the Red Cross Society very easily, directly from this place. Yahoo is also hosting donation links. Only on Yahoo, at this moment, 19,154 people donated $972,021. Bing has an initiative similar with Google’s, called Microsoft Corporate Citizenship. I would like to use this opportunity to salute the involvement of these companies, which IS making a difference. I believe a lot of people are behind these humanitarian projects; I would like to thank them for the great job they are doing. My thoughts go out to all those who have been affected by this calamity and to their families.
