My Green Corner is looking for good devoted editors. If you are a passionate webmaster with good web experience and some free time to spend (a couple of minutes every 2-3 days or so), then you are our guy. We encourage anyone how feels that is up to moderate one of our subcategories to contact us using our contact page. We would be very happy to welcome in our family trustful persons that have good editorial aptitudes and would like to use them on our site, helping us to further develop MGC into a quality resource.

We can’t pay anything for this job (we are a free directory after all), but being an editor has its advantages, because you can submit your own site to the subcategory you want to edit (as long as they fit it, of course). You will also get you own profile page and post things on our blog.

To qualify as an editor you will have to provide solid proof of:

1. Your experience in web industry (at least 2 years of experience needed).

2. The fact that you own at least 2 sites related to the subcategory you want to edit. They have to be good sites.

3. The fact that you are a well-intentioned person. That would be all.

Our wordpress theme viewer has been invaded lately by low quality spammy wordpress themes. Guys, if you think that changing the color of your theme will produce another theme than you are not welcome to submit your themes to our resource. We only accept good qulity wordpress themes, that don’t show errors or warnings on their demo, that are family friendly and original.

We do not accept any more casino templates, we consider that we now host enogh casino themes so that any blogger interested in these has from where to pick.

We  do not accept any themes with adult feeling as we want to provide a family friendly section. Bloggers who want to use these type of themes should look for them somewhere else.

We do not accept any low quality themes. They add no value to our site and aren’t used by anyone, we will remove as soon as we see them, so don’t bother submitting and wasting both our time and yours.

To all the guys that submit great themes to our theme viewer, I say a big THANK YOU.

Hi all.

2 weeks ago, as I was browsing through TDNAM expiring listings, I spotted allphpld.com, once a good resource of phpld templates and other stuff related to directories. I decided not to let this site die, and made a small bid which turned out to be enough to win this site. I decided to transform allphpld into a place where anybody can read reviews about the greatest directories on web. I haven’t seen this type of site anywhere else and I consider that I have enough experience as a directory owner to make these reviews as good and as entertaining as possible, so I guess the motivation and the tools to complete this job exists.

The template use is called Neat light (v 1.20), it’s a template My Green Corner released for free a while ago - I really love the feel of this one. I have also installed some plugins for the SEO friendly pages, meta fields and rating system. Anyone can rate the reviewed directories and comments are most welcome.

Although I am going to review mostly directories where I have submitted one of my sites, there will be cases where I will be analyzing sites were I don’t have any listing (I will also explain why I haven’t submitted any site to those particularly directories).

I am not planning to achieve anything with allphpld, as I don’t believe there will be too much traffic or so. I just want to have another small lovely site added to my portfolio. If you want to write a review about a top 10 directory, you can drop me a line using the contact form.

Well, this post is about the Google error that happened 2 days ago. For those that are unaware of the subject, everyone could experienced on 31.01, between 6:30 a.m. PST and 7:25 a.m. PST, an annoying Google error. Google showed for each search result that it may contain bad software and that it may harm the computer if it was accessed. Moreover, in order to access the site, people had to copy-paste the url in their broswer.

At first, I though there is a problem with my side, so I instanly went to a webmaster forum to check things out. It turned out that the community was already talking about it.

After that, I checked the stocks.

See the portion from 30 Jan - 2 Feb. What a fall, huh? Luckily, it was weekend, and morning in US. Luckily because otherwise there would have been much more problems with many companies that felt that their image was damaged. After a few hours, an official declaration appeared on Google’s blog, and on Spotbadware’s site (which probably received the most traffic ever).

Kind of plain, huh? A single “/” disturbed the world peace for 40 minutes. Anyways, my point is that anybody makes mistakes, even Google. But at the end of the day, Google still remains the best friend, the meanest reviewer, the most powerful corporation and greatest thing that happened to humanity in the last 20 years.
