I have been searching for quite some time a good newsletter script and some good subjects that would please our subscribers. There were at first so many subjects to speak about. I have seen a lot of interesting products lately, but none that would really deserve to be presented in our first newsletter. As all our subscribers are webmasters, a related subject/product/review had to be chosen.
One of my main addictions is Google. I can say that I google things all the time, 10% for search purposes and 90% just to see how different sites perform. I know, it’s totally useless in a way, but from time to time, when one of my sites experiences increases in SEPR’s, I feel rewarded and sometimes happy. I know some of you have similar habits, and as most of you have connection with, are interested or better yet, activate in this field, I tried to find something suitable to talk about in this newsletter.
In the end, after browsing through a lot of crap (mostly minisites/salespages of webmasters that move just one finger and make $50000 or present 100 secret formulas that help you to achieve neverending life and so on), I actually found a guy that has something real for you. I took some time to better investigate this. The product itself is a strategy. The guy that sells it: Simon Edwards. His site can be found here. Taking aside the marketing attributes, if you closely watch his video, you can see that he isn’t talking nonsense, his site actually did it in less than 8 days. His guide also talks about usual things like on page optimization (if you’re a pro, you can totally skip this), but the one thing that is really interesting and should be carefully read by most of you is the process of getting a new website on top of SE using just the social and blogging websphere available to anyone.
So, after this product got my attention, I contacted the owner. I asked if I could present it in our first newsletter, and better, I checked it out to see if it is worth it. He granted to me access to the product’s section. My review: great product for beginner and medium SEOers. But let’s also allow Simon to say some things (mini-interview):
Me: Hi Simon. From what I read on your site, you are a full time web marketer. For how long have you been doing this?
Simon: I’ve been marketing online for the past 7 years. I started part time in 2002 selling as an affiliate, and moved in to it full time 5 years ago. Back then I think things were a lot easier for newbies like me coming in and trying to make money. It didn’t take long for my part time income to over take my full time job, so it just made sense to quit work and do this full time from home. So I’ve been working from home ever since 2004.
Me: Do you enjoy this? Is it “hard work”?
Simon: Yes I really enjoy it. What’s not to like about being your own boss and working at a time and pace that suits you? It may sound a bit cliché now, but if I want to start work late, or finish early, or even take time off, I can do it without having to ask permission. The best thing about working as a marketer online is the freedom it gives you. For me that’s even more important than the money I earn. Wild horses couldn’t drag me back to work for someone else now.
But is is hard work? Well maybe not “hard” work, but you definitely have to put the time and effort in, and a lot of hours. I see a lot of websites telling people marketing online involves a couple of hours a week, and the rest of the time you can relax and spend your millions. It just doesn’t happen like that. All the top marketers online, the big names you see, they all work very long hours, just like anyone who’s successful in any business. In real terms, I probably work just as many hours now, as I used to when I had a normal job….maybe more. The difference now is I get to pick what those hours are - morning, evening, weekend, whatever. My working hours tend to fit in around my family and leisure instead of the other way around. Plus, the return you get as an online marketer is massive for the hours you in compared to normal work, because we effectively get paid 24 hours a day. I can earn anything up to $100 - $200 per hour, all day everyday, even if I’m only working 7 or 8 hours a day. So in that sense you could say the work is easy, because I’m getting paid two thirds of the time for doing nothing.
Me: Your product is pretty impressive, both for beginners and medium online savvies. I saw you carefully present your tactics and resources. Still, do you have any extra advice for them?
Simon: I always give the same advice - don’t procrastinate! Don’t put it off! If you want something to work, you have to take action. 99.999999% of people will never do anything with the information or opportunities they get. That’s just a simple fact. Most people simply do nothing. If people were told they could get 20 billion dollars and the secret to immortality & eternal youth, and all they had to do was run a marathon once….most people still wouldn’t bother. It’s human nature to NOT take action, unfortunately. So my advice is always take action and use the knowledge you have. Because most people will do nothing with what they’re given, it’ll put you at a huge advantage over the rest if you actually do something.
Me: One more thing. I see the price of your product is “pretty ok”, considering the industry and the competition.
Simon: It’s just for teasing, my plan is to raise it gradually.
Me: Could you hold it up for our subscribers just a few days?
Simon: Well, Dugu, what can I say? You have a great community over here. I will keep it unchanged for a while.
Me: Finally, where do you see yourself in 5 years from now, in relationship with WWW?
Simon: I plan on expanding and taking on a permanent team. Right now I manage everything myself from home. Even though I outsource the majority of the labor intensive tasks, it still takes a lot of time to keep track of everything. I’ve got to a stage now where my income is exceeding the time I’ve got available to enjoy it, so I want to bring in some people to manage the day to day running of the operation. That’ll free up my time for a)more fun, and b)to devote more time to new ideas and projects to take my marketing business in new levels.

Ok, so that being said, I will leave you with the product and the promise of another great newsletter the following month.

Title:
Is there anything about this system that can get someone “banned” from Google. It’s always the sort of threat that hangs over you when you use seo tools like ‘Cloaker’ and ‘All Day Sucker’ etc.
